Another food festival in JB?! If you can’t get enough of the massive food bazaars in JB, you’re in luck, as there’s a new one that’s ongoing till 15th June 2024, and it opens till midnight daily! The Local Foodie Fest is back at UTM Skudai (Padang Kawad), just ~25 minutes away from the checkpoint.

The huge festival boasts over 300 vendors, with over 150 viral street eats and various family-friendly entertainment as well. Aside from local favourites like meat skewers, char kway teow, giant fist-sized meatballs, seafood fried rice, kebabs, teh tahrik, beef ribs, mee soto and more; you can also expect a slew of more unique and trendy eats.

Viral eats that you might find at the festival include rainbow “sticky milk”, lok lok-style skewers, Korean corn dogs, DIY rojak in a cup, baby pancakes doused in chocolate, freshly-fried churros, Thai coconut ice cream, rainbow jelly balls, som tam, stuffed grilled squid and banana pancakes, among others.

There’s also retail stalls you can shop from, and activities like kiddy car rides, fishing, art jamming, themed “tuk tuk” rides, inflatable bouncy castles and also live music performances. The Local Foodie Fest is happening from now till 15th June 2024 and is open till 12am daily, so you can add this mega fest to your JB itinerary if you’re heading down sometime this week!
