Say annyeong to the latest addition to the Korean food scene at Tanjong Pagar, Sagye, specialising in the viral sotbap dish and premium hot stone KBBQ! Sotbap translates directly to “pot rice”: a popular and well-loved dish with humble origins, featuring freshly cooked rice topped with assorted ingredients, all cooked within a single pot.

We tried the first sotbap haven in Singapore at Sagye and I highly recommend their Beef Sotbap! They use premium Australian beef short rib, which is meticulously marinated with Korean pears and apples etc. The fruits infused the meat with a delicate sweetness while maintaining its rich, savoury essence. Overall, it was a really comforting dish, and the meat was tender and flavourful.👍 Each sotbap set starts from S$17.80, very value-for-money! #sagyesingapore #sotbap #koreansotbap #koreanpotrice #koreancuisine #beefpotrice #australianbeef #shortrib

To best enjoy your sotbap: pour the sauce over the rice and mix well, leaving some crispy bits of rice at the bottom. Once you’re done with the rice, the staff will pour some hot tea so you can enjoy a second round of nurungji porridge as “dessert”! Note that the sotbap is only available for lunch at 2 seatings: 11.30am to 1pm and 1pm to 2.30pm.
