News about KFC’s not-so-secret new menu item has been making waves across social media, with “accidental” leaks teasing the return of the highly popular Meltz. We’re here to tell you that those leaks were not accidental at all—if you’ve been waiting for KFC’s Meltz to make a return, the wait is now over as they are indeed releasing a brand new edition of the Meltz called the Cheesy Zinger Meltz! This brand new edition of Meltz is unlike previous ones, promising to be cheesier, spicier and cruncher; and since we had the pleasure of tasting the new Meltz before anyone else, we can definitely zouch that this is true.
The Cheesy Zinger Meltz is made with KFC’s signature Zinger Chicken, shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese, crunchy nacho chips, tomatoes and their iconic savoury KFCheese sauce (the very same one that’s used for their fan-favourite Cheese Fries!) before being wrapped in a tortilla and toasted for a mere 20 seconds to give you that perfect crisp exterior and oozy, warm middle.
Taste wise, the Zinger Chicken really carries the whole wrap—perfectly crispy and flavourful with just the right amount of spice. The addition of chips also really makes a difference and gives you that added crunch with every bite. We also loved how the cheesiness is just right, not overly cheesy or overpowering that would make the Meltz too gelat. Toasting the tortilla wrap definitely takes it to the next level, creating a crisp outer shell that gives way to a tender, melty and oozy center.
Every bite is harmoniously juicy, with every element of the Meltz doing its part to create the perfect delicious bite every time—we would gladly devour it over and over again. Make sure to eat it while it’s fresh and hot as it tastes the best when the chicken pieces and nacho chips are still crunchy and not soggy!
