The highly anticipated Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park will finally open later this year, after a series of Covid-related delays. The much awaited movie-inspired park in Resorts World Genting will be located in Malaysia’s Genting Highlands, surrounded by one of the oldest tropical rainforests on the planet.
Dubbed ‘Genting Sky Worlds Theme Park’, this adventure getaway is intended to showcase nine immersive, movie-inspired worlds known as the Andromeda Base, Central Park, Eagle Mountain, Liberty Lane, Epic, Ice Age, Robots Rivet Town, Rio, and Studio Plaza. Complete with a total of 26 attractions, this park is expected to include a variety of roller coasters, water rides, and other world-first experiences.
Conceptualised with an aim to transform the predominantly ‘mall-style’ gaming resort into an outdoor amusement park with concession operated attractions, the all-new Genting Sky Worlds Theme Park will feature some of the world’s most fantastic ride experiences by the industry’s best vendors such as Oceaneering, Dynamic Attractions, ETF Ride Systems and Zamperla.
Despite the early preview of the park by Resort World Genting’s Head of Theme Parks & Experiences, Gregory Pearn, the Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park is still a long way from done. In light of the current global health crisis, Gregory Pearn has expressed future plans of integrating advanced technology and social media into the overall park experience, whilst anticipating the impact of prolonged social distancing restrictions, existing capacity constraints, and maintaining appropriate flow of traffic with minimal risk.
As of now, enthusiastic guests can hold hope that the park will eventually open by late October 2021.
