Festivals and events in Singapore
The festive season isn’t happening for a couple more weeks, but there’s still plenty of reasons to rejoice and celebrate this weekend! There’s Australia’s famous hot chicken fast-food chain dropping by as a pop-up, a carnival just for your 5 senses, and a unique nostalgia-themed festival for a trip down memory lane.
1. Belles Hot Chicken X Andaz Singapore
Fried chicken lovers, you’ve probably heard of Belles Hot Chicken, one of Australia’s most popular fried chicken joint, and it’s coming to Singapore for the first time ever at a pop-up in Andaz Singapore!

Famous for their Nashville-style chickens and natural wines, Belles’ chickens are known to be extremely crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside, and comes in a wide array of spice levels that range from the light seasoned ‘Southern’ to the tear-jerking ‘Really F**kin Hot’.

Expect items like Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Tenders, Chicken Wings, Chicken & Waffles, and all of their signature sauces and sides at the Belles Hot Chicken x Andaz Singapore pop-up! Do make sure to head down early though, because they’re only available while stocks last.

2. Let’s Go Jalan Jalan
Take a trip down memory lane at Let’s Go Jalan Jalan, a pop-up festival with not just Instagrammable street snacks, fairy lights, and colourful buntings but also distinctly Singaporean and nostalgic charms with old-school hawker fare and retro carnival games!
Some of the traditional local favourites and photo-worthy festival grubs include chilli crab with fried mantou, Peranakan laksa, agar agar cakes, mentaiko fries, rosti raclette, and flaming unicorn ice cream.
Besides food, there’ll also be a grand total of more than 130 booths for you to shop around, and you can have a blast with their wide range of activities present! Think live music performances by local artists, go-karting, horse and pony petting, and old-school carnival games like Tikam Tikam.

Immerse yourself in a sensory playground that is Sensorium, a 2-day carnival that aims to promote wellness and the importance of ourselves and our senses! Filled with attractions split into categories like smell, taste, touch, sight, and more, expect intriguing experiences like a Tickle Room, and sign up for hands-on sensorial workshops like Oo La Lab’s perfumery class, Hook Coffee’s coffee workshop, and Mamonde’s skincare course.
4. Affordable Art Fair Singapore 2018
Artsy folks, the Affordable Art Fair Singapore is back with yet another impressive collection of fresh, contemporary art creations for sale! Featuring masterpieces from over 80 local, regional, and international galleries priced from as low as $100, interactive workshops, and talks by professional artists, it doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned collector or a window shopper – there’ll definitely be something for everyone.

5. Klook’s Travel Pawn Shop
If you’ve been bitten by the wanderlust bug, mark your calendars for Klook’s biggest travel event yet – the Travel Pawn Shop! The first of its kind, you get to exchange your old travel memories for brand new travel experiences, which range from activities like go-karting down the streets of Akihabara and exploring the bustling night markets at Jiufen, to cooking classes in Bangkok.
Apparently, all you have to do is to upload a photo you took on a holiday overseas on social media, hashtag it #klooktravelpawnshop, and voilà! You’re entitled to redeem a pawn shop ticket that allows you to choose a mystery bag with an attraction inside.

6. Mamma Mia!
This is for all the 80’s and 90’s kids out there – the world famous musical Mamma Mia! is now in town! Sing along to all the catchy hits from ABBA such as Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, and Does Your Mother Know? as you watch the comedic and heartwarming story of how the protagonist, Sophie, goes on a journey to discover who her birth father is while she prepares for her wedding!

7. Poinsettia Wishes Featuring Disney Tsum Tsum

Great news for those who missed the adorable Disney Tsum Tsum installations during the Mid-Autumn Festival – they’re back again this time at Gardens by the Bay for the floral Christmas display “Poinsettia Wishes”!
Expect plenty of magical light installations, festive baubles, beautiful “snowy” landscape, and a giant Christmas tree adorned with Mickey and his Tsum Tsum buddies! Other Disney characters that will be present include Chip and Dale, Olaf, Dumbo, and more.

8. The Great Moscow Circus

For those of you in need of some fun amidst your mundane work routine, catch The Great Moscow Circus and witness their spectacular and death-defying acts! Back in Singapore after more than a decade, audiences can expect new and improved acts from this famous Russian circus such as the ‘Motorcycle Globe Of Death’, where motorcyclists perform insane stunts, ‘The Giant Wheel’, where acrobats risk their lives on a giant spinning wheel, and ‘The Rubber Man’, a contortionist who does extremely weird poses!
