You’ve definitely come across Kyoto’s most viral Kichi Kichi Omurice on social media: a famous omurice experience topped with flashy and energetic performances by Chef Motokichi Yukimura, whose 14-seater restaurant in Kyoto is always fully booked within mere seconds. If you’ve yet to experience his iconic omurice for yourself, you might have a chance to do so this July 2025, as the chef will be coming to Singapore!

If you’re not familiar with Kichi Kichi Omurice, think made-to-order soft and jiggly omelettes topped on rice and cleanly sliced open right in front of you to create that IG-worthy egg “avalanche”. Chef Motokichi Yukimura himself will be coming to Singapore for a 2-day event, and will be doing live demonstrations of his famous omurice, as well as launching brand new Singapore-exclusive menu items that will be available to order permanently here. The collaboration is happening at Japanese restaurant Tsukimi Hamburg, a Japanese restaurant under the popular RE&S Group.

From 10th July 2025 onwards, you’ll be able to order 2 new menu items created in collaboration with Kichi Kichi: Kichi Kichi Hamburg Omurice ($16.80) and Kichi Kichi Omurice ($12.80). Instead of the usual “avalanche”-style omelette that’s sliced open, these new menu items will feature a swirled tornado-style omelette, both finished with Chef Motokichi’s signature demi-glace sauce. These exclusive dishes will be a permanent addition to all 3 of Tsukimi Hamburg’s outlets in Singapore.

That’s not all: Chef Motokichi will be in town on 11th and 12th July 2025, and a select few lucky diners will get the chance to witness him live in action at Tsukimi Hamburg Jurong Point. To stand a chance to win a spot at the live cooking demonstration session (and enjoy a free meal), all you have to do is spend a minimum of $20 in a single receipt at any &JOY Japanese Food Street outlets at NEX or Jurong Point from now till 30th June 2025. Each $20 spend = 1 chance to enter; so the more you spend, the higher your chances. Make sure to submit your receipt entries via this form; and there are a total of 40 pairs of tickets to be won.
