1. Pâtisserie CLÉ

If you’re a fan of sweet treats and desserts (especially pretty ones), you might be familiar with Pâtisserie CLÉ, a popular spot that’s known for their French sweets, and they’ve just opened a new flagship store at River Valley!

The pastel pink-hued space is mostly a takeaway-only joint, with communal bench seating for you to sit while you wait for your treats. Some signature desserts on rotation include Noisette ($10.30), Passion Sesame Tart ($9.80), Apple Nutmeg ($10.80), and Orh Blanc Tart ($9.80), just to name a few. Aside from the items available on display, there’s also specialty coffee and tea.

2. Vernacular Coffee

For the minimalists, here’s another moody monochrome-themed coffee spot for you. Vernacular Coffee features a loft-style space with high ceilings, dark-toned furnishings and a raw, industrial-inspired vibe. They’re also super serious about their coffee, with an extensive range of 8 single-origin coffee brews on rotation, sourced from various regions.

Coffees start from $4.50, with classic options and pourovers. To pair with your coffee, try one of their in-house made pastries like fruit and savoury danishes including Grape & Honey Camembert ($10), Blueberry & Vanilla Chantilly ($8), Pulled Pork & Pickle ($12), Avocado & Sour Cream ($8) and more. 3. Plain Meredith

Located in the hottest new mall, One Holland Village is Plain Meredith, a unique pet-centric café with a dedicated gourmet pet treats corner, and food menus for pets too! Unlike your average pet-friendly cafés that only allow pets outdoors, this café allows pets indoors, so you can dine alongside your pets.

4. Beanfolks

Enter Singapore’s first ever hot chocolate specialty bar—Beanfolks is the sister concept of artisanal chocolate brand Lemuel Chocolate, specialising in handcrafted hot chocolate that you can customise to your liking! The hot chocolate bar boasts a range of 8 types of chocolate, 4 types of milk, plus over 20 inclusions/toppings for you to create your perfect cup.

5. ToMo Café & Bar

This popular Japanese-inspired café has just opened their second outlet in Maxwell, with a cosy Scandinavian-themed interior and a unique “river table” with actual flowing water as a centrepiece! The new outlet is bigger than the original, with the addition of a bar concept with handcrafted cocktails and booze.

The café also offers new outlet-exclusive menu items like Chuffles (from $8), or “churros waffles” with both sweet and savoury options like fried chicken or ice cream. 6. B for Bagel

If you love chunky bagels, this new bagel joint is definitely a must-add to your list! The popular Korean bagel chain has opened not one, but two new outlets in Singapore, doling out their signature thicc and chunky bagels with bold flavours.

Look out for the orange-hued bagel bar at Great World City and Parkway Parade, featuring a display of chewy Korean-inspired bagels in both sweet and savoury flavours. 7. Spring Coffee

Another hidden coffee spot has sprung up in Singapore, located in Hong Lim Complex. Spring Coffee oozes quiet charm with a rustic interior and calming shades of green. There’s a couple of tables, as well as bar seating available for you to enjoy your cuppa on a peaceful afternoon. You can also sit by the cosy windowsill and have a chat with the baristas at work.

Expect classic coffee brews starting like White (from $4), Long Black ($4.50), and Filter Coffee (from $6), among others. While the menu is pretty lean, they also offer a modest selection of bakes and pastries to pair with your coffee, tea and other drinks: such as croissants, scones and banana bread, just to name a couple.

8. Café Gui

If you’re looking for casual Korean-Japanese fare, Café Gui is probably the place to be. This popular café has opened a second outlet in the Chinatown area, this time with a cosy traditional Hanok-inspired theme and adorable cat elements all around! The space is also much bigger than the original, with plenty of seats to go around.

The café is known for their Dosirak Rice Box ($15.90), a classic Korean favourite with rice, meat, veggies, egg and other sides served in a metal tin that you’re supposed to shake up before eating. Level up your teatime at this new premium Kyoto-style teahouse in Orchard by the folks at Hvala, Ingen Kyoto! The teahouse oozes zen vibes, with an aesthetic Japanese ryokan-inspired space and tatami room. There’s also a counter/bar seats for the most intimate tea drinking experience.

This new 2-storey riverside café in Clarke Quay boasts scenic views of the Singapore River, and has a spacious industrial-inspired space that transforms into a livehouse by dusk with their night concept, Home Dusk.
