6 METRE-TALL KAWS ART SCULPTURE ARRIVES AT THE MONDRIAN SINGAPORE!

If you missed the last KAWS art installation in Singapore, you’ll be glad to know that the iconic character now has a permanent home in Singapore! This whopping 6 metre-tall KAWS sculpture was just unveiled at the newly-opened Mondrian Singapore Duxton!

The gigantic all-black sculpture is made out of bronze, and is part of one of the most significant works from the artist, titled ‘What Party’. It features one of KAWS’ signature characters, Chum, with a unique “puffy” physique. If the sculpture’s poofy figure reminds you of a certain other iconic character, you’re right—Chum is indeed an adaptation of the famous Michelin Man!

This new KAWS installation marks the artist’s first permanent display in Asia, and is set to be Singapore’s newest landmark. You can find it standing proud right at the entrance of Mondrian Singapore Duxton, amidst the iconic heritage shophouses and CBD district of Singapore.

The monumental art sculpture is the centrepiece of the hotel’s impressive repertoire of contemporary art pieces, including works by renowned Singaporean artist Dawn Ng, and British painter Ian Davenport.
