Remember when LiHO had their $1 bring-your-own cup promotion for their bubble tea earlier in March this year? We witnessed many very creative and hilarious “cup” variations, with some even going so far as to use gigantic, oversized wine goblets to make the most out of their buck. This 6th September, Cathay Cineplexes will be having their own bring-your-own-container (BYOC) event, but with popcorn instead—all for just $10!

With their BYOC promotion, you can literally bring any type and size of container, and they’ll fill it right up with their Signature Caramel Popcorn! Other BYOC events have taken place in overseas cinemas like MBO Cinemas and LOTTE Cinemas, and movie-goers really got creative in their choice of containers. Just take a look at a couple of examples below:

It’s time for you to get creative on the kind of container to bring. A couple possible ideas include buckets, pails, crates, pots, and even Toyogo storage containers—the possibilities are virtually endless! But just take note: while there’s no limit to the size of container you can bring, there are a couple of guidelines to adhere to, and they’ll only be doling out a maximum of 3kg of popcorn per container!
