It’s been quite a month for famed F&B concepts from Korea making their debut in Singapore, from the popular Song Gye Ok grilled chicken KBBQ to the cult-favourite mocha bun chain Standard Bun. Next up is an oldie but a goodie: the renowned buckwheat soba restaurant, Gwanghwamun Mijin will be opening here in Singapore too!

Gwanghwamun Mijin is a beloved soba spot that’s been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand multiple times since 2018, and boasts more than 70 years of history since their first opening in 1952. They’re most famous for their handmade Korean cold buckwheat soba noodles in a chilled broth, and they also have other mixed or soup noodle dishes, pork cutlets, boiled pork and more.

The Singapore menu is still under wraps, but you can expect their signature dishes like Naeng Memil (cold buckwheat noodles), Bibim Memil (spicy buckwheat noodles), Memil Jeonbyeong (buckwheat crepes), Bossam (boiled pork slices), Donkatsu (pork cutlet) and more. Gwanghwamun Mijin is slated to open this August 2025 at Far East Square. This Singapore opening marks the brand’s first-ever overseas flagship outlet.
