You’ve already heard about the arrival of Hong Kong’s famous cha chaan teng, Mon Kee Café, in Singapore: and now yet another popular Hong Kong brand is opening too. Noodle lovers will be stoked to know that Hong Kong’s renowned wonton noodle shop, Mak Man Kee, is coming this July 2025!

Mak Man Kee Noodle Shop is a popular Michelin Bib Gourmand-awarded wonton mee specialty house from Kowloon, Hong Kong, boasting over 70 years of history. The Singapore version of Mak Man Kee noodles will also be modified to be Halal. Their wonton soup will be made with dried flounder, shrimp shells and chicken bones instead of pork bones and cured ham; and wontons will be stuffed with chicken and prawn instead of just prawns.

Their famous noodles will also be made fresh daily with a traditional recipe, though with chicken eggs instead of the original duck eggs (as duck eggs are not allowed in Singapore). It’s also said that the portion size for the Singapore outlet will also be more generous compared to the ones in Hong Kong. Some of the items to expect from the Singapore menu include Prawn Wonton Noodles ($9.80), Prawn and Chicken Wonton Noodles ($8.80), Zha Jiang Mian ($8.80) and more.

The Singapore branch won’t be a standalone eatery; instead, Mak Man Kee’s noodles will be served exclusively at Joy Luck Teahouse’s new upcoming dine-in space within Food Republic at Causeway Point. The wonton noodles will be available to the public starting from 18th July 2025.
