If you’re a true foodie, you’re probably familiar with the name Gaggan Anand, known for his unique food served in unconventional ways (like by literally licking the plate clean). He has also finished a successful run of his pop-up restaurant right here in Singapore back in 2021. After all that success, it seems that Gaggan Anand can’t get enough of Singapore’s vibrant dining scene, and he’s finally opened a permanent restaurant right here on our shores!

We got an exclusive first look at the new restaurant: Ms. Maria & Mr Singh, a cheeky venture that first opened in Bangkok back in 2020. This marks the restaurant’s very first overseas outpost, highlighting some of the restaurant’s original hits and even some special Singapore-exclusive dishes.

The restaurant’s concept centres around the fictional love story between a Mexican girl (Ms. Maria) and an Indian boy (Mr. Singh)—hence the name, Ms. Maria & Mr Singh. The restaurant’s decor is inspired by the colours found in the cities of Oaxaca and Jaipur, with vibrant and bold colours of orange and blue and IG-worthy neon lights as decor; all inspired by a cosy and comfortable casa (house) where Ms. Maria and Mr. Singh fell in love.

As for the food, the restaurant marries both Mexican and Indian tastes, offering guests a dynamic menu that is romantically influenced by both cultures. While the food is served at Ms. Maria & Mr. Singh is elevated and refined in nature, prices remain super accessible and affordable for the quality you’re getting.
