While they created quite a buzz when they first appeared last year, these vending machines quietly disappeared in the midst of the COVID situation. Well, they are now back! Maybe you have seen one around or even queued up to collect a freebie. But as of now, these machines are still quite a rare sight.
Our most recent sighting is this Auntie Sam vending machine at Ang Mo Kio Hub. A relatively new venture, Auntie Sam gives out freebies on a subscription-based program – one redemption is free, but you can top up $0.99 to collect 3 freebies or $6.50 to get one of everything! Prices are updated on a promotional basis.
Snacks in the machine include chips, cereal, and even Carlsberg beer! You even get points for redemptions, which can get you even more free stuff. A pretty good deal, we must say.
