Izakaya Shun is an underrated Japanese izakaya tucked away in Cuppage Plaza, and their 7-course omakase comes with free flow alcohol for just $99++ per person!
There are a total of 7 different types of alcohol plus non-alcoholic drinks as that you can order for the liquid buffet portion of the omakase, such as hot or cold house sake, umeshu, shochu, whiskey highballs, red or white wines and draft beer on tap. You can order unlimited glasses from the alcohol menu for 90 minutes, but note that you must finish your glass before ordering the next one.

The 7-course Shun Omakase is served for dinner only (6pm onwards) and comes with:
- 6-kind platter of assorted seasonal appetisers

Snow Crab Croquette with Homemade Demi-Glace Sauce
The course includes a good amount of seafood items, like Steamed Oyster, Fried Scallop, Snow Crab Cream Croquette and a platter filled with 7 kinds of assorted sashimi and sushi. For our visit, we were served a platter of Salmon, Hotate (scallop), Anago (sea eel), Madai (red snapper), Chutoro (Bluefin tuna), Katsuo (bonito fish) and Taco (octopus).

One of our favourites from the course was the Teppanyaki Out Skirt Steak with Special Onion Sauce. Meat lovers will definitely appreciate this: the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and brought to your table still sizzling hot. We ended off the food items with the fan-favourite finale: Overflowing Ikura Don, a mini rice bowl topped with generous heapings of ikura.
For just $99++ per person (UP. $129++ per person) for a hearty and filling dinner, plus all the alcohol you can possibly drink, we think Izakaya Shun’s omakase course is definitely worth a visit. Especially considering that there are plenty of other omakases in the market for the same (if not more expensive) price, but don’t offer any, much less unlimited alcohol—this is surely a bang for your buck. One note is that if your preference is for a more sushi-centric omakase, Izakaya Shun might not be as satisfactory, as their omakase course focusses slightly more on cooked dishes.
