Makro Sathorn is a newly-revamped hypermarket chain that’s especially loved by Thai locals, known for offering a massive variety of thousands of items at super low, wholesale prices. It’s also a great spot if you’re looking to shop for all your favourite Thai snacks and souvenirs to take home, with prices starting from as low as just 4 baht (~$0.10 SGD) each. If you’re shopping here, you’ll likely see plenty of other local shoppers lugging around carts overflowing with daily groceries and essentials.

Makro is the biggest supermarket chain in Bangkok, kind of like the Thai version of a Costco, Walmart or Target. Aside from all the usual supermarket offerings of fresh produce (from 13 baht), seafood (from 25 baht), meats (from (8 baht), essentials etc., you can find plenty more to shop here—from electronic appliances (from 49 baht), lifestyle goods, home decor, beauty, wellness items, alcohol and much more. Since it’s a wholesale store, prices only get cheaper when you buy more quantities. For reference, here are a couple of everyday items and their estimated prices at Makro:
