New Traditional Japanese Onsen & Cafe Opening at Jurong!

An all-new traditional Japanese onsen is set to officially open its doors in July 2021, at Jurong! Showcasing both private and public bathhouses, alongside a dedicated sushi and Hokkaido milk drinks and desserts café, Joya Onsen is easily distinguishable by its undeniable similarities to a real ryokan in Japan.

Complete with an abundance of wooden furnishing, and traditional lanterns, alongside bonsai and bamboo trees, Joya Onsen is expected to feature distinctly separated gendered baths, and shower stations. Inviting all guests to beat the heat with a choice of relaxing hot water, or refreshing ice baths, the Joya Onsen experience will cost an estimated $38 per adult.

For a more intimate experience, guests may also opt for a private onsen session worth $35 per person, with additional access to the public baths.

Other notable features include the onsen’s sky-painted ceilings, a zen garden with dedicated lounge areas, and traditional tatami-style floor seating in the café.

Serving a variety of sushi sets worth anywhere from $9 to $22.20, alongside $8.80 Japanese-style parfaits, $3.40 Hokkaido Milk Ice Cream, and $3.50 Hokkaido Milk Milkshakes and Teas,  the Joya Onsen Cafe is located a mere stone’s throw away from Joo Koon MRT station, and is currently still undergoing renovations!
