1. Cafe Margaret

You’ve probably seen this viral café making its rounds on your social media feed, and for good reason. Coming straight to Singapore’s shores directly from Seoul, Cafe Margaret is most popular for their 72-layer CubePies and other aesthetic bakes and desserts. This is the café’s very first international outlet, situated in a cosy 2-storey shophouse along Bali Lane.

The interior oozes warm, cottagecore and vintage vibes, with wood furnishings, retro knick knacks, antique-style artwork and retro dishware. For their CubePies, flavours include Lotus Cream ($8.30), Injeolmi ($8.30), Matcha Cream ($8.30) and more. The CubePies are only available from 11am onwards, and sell our pretty quickly, so make sure to come early!

2. Nesuto

Popular Japanese and French-inspired patisserie is soon to open a new nest-like outlet in Jewel Changi Airport late this July 2023. The new space will feature a beautiful curved exterior that resembles the shape of an egg, with inviting warm-toned interiors.

Nesuto’s new café will also feature new outlet-exclusive items like cakes and chocolate bon bons (from $3.86/piece). Bon bon flavours include Earl Grey & Bergamot, Sesame Rum, Raspberry & Lime, Rose & Pistachio and more. For cakes, you can look forward to new offerings like Matcha Chestnut ($12.90), Chocolate Orange ($11.20) and Whiskey Chocolate ($11.90).

3. Nakey

Chinatown is fast becoming one of the new hotspots in Singapore for aesthetic cafés and coffee joints, and new to the area is Nakey: a modern fusion café serving fresh bakes, coffee and even organic wines! The café has a modern, almost industrial-esque interior, with wood, stone and silver elements.

Nakey is known for their sourdough bakes, like bread and stuffed donuts, as well as bagels, cookies and more. Pick your poison from their display, with donut flavours like Custard Bastard ($5.50), Lemon Basil Meringue ($6), Nutty Praline ($6) and more.

4. Coexist Coffee Co.

Café lovers will surely be familiar with the Coexist brand, known for their unique café decor, like half-half red and white space and sea-inspired all-blue space, both of which have since closed down. But not to worry, fans of Coexist can now hop on over to their brand new space, this time with a super clean and minimalistic industrial vibe complete with grey and silver hues!

Indulge in brunch favourites like the Prawn Gambas ($20), Guac Toast ($17), Char Siew Sandwich ($20), Herbal Chicken ‘Rice’ ($24), Truffle Fungi Pasta ($24), Chilli Crab Shakshuka ($18) and more. They will also offer their popular bakes and desserts, including assorted pastries, Goreng Pisang ($12), Milo Swissroll ($6) or Apple Crumble ($8). 5. Snap Cafe

This is yet another Korean-inspired café in Singapore, with aesthetic K-style pastries, sourdough toasties and pocket-friendly specialty coffee drinks. Located in the CBD area, Snap features a simple and clean minimalist interior, perfect for a breakfast and coffee run before heading to the office, or a midday treat.

For heartier bites, expect Sourdough Toasties in flavours like Honey Baked Chicken Ham & Cheese (from $5), Korean Spicy Chix & Egg (from $7), Gochujang Prawn (from $7) and Triple Cheese (from $5). 6. Ciel Patisserie

Ciel is yet another popular online dessert café that has just opened a physical café at Upper Thomson, offering an array of beautifully presented cakes, tarts, entremets and pastries. The space is homey and welcoming, with cosy and minimalist Japanese-inspired furnishing like light woods, greys and natural lighting streaming in.

Pick from various treats available from Ciel’s display case, each of them aesthetic in their own right. 7. Christina’s at Duxton

Situated within the newly-opened Mondrian hotel in Singapore, Christina’s is the place to be for a bougie and sophisticated brunch affair. The stunning tropical-inspired space is a casual brunch café by day and transforms into a swanky wine and cocktail bar at night.

Helmed by the folks behind home-based business @kuki.shopsg’s famous lava cookies is Café REN, a modern café in Farrer Park offering fusion-inspired all-day brunch and coffee. Decked in light wood tones, REN’s space is Scandi-inspired, with a cosy dine-in space for customers to enjoy.
