If you frequent JB’s many café haunts, chances are you’ve probably come across the popular Principle Café by T.A.M. And if you’re a fan of the café, they’ve just opened a brand-new and more upscale version of the café, located ~10 minutes away from the checkpoint!

Dubbed as Principle Reserve, the new Muslim-friendly outlet is a standalone colonial-inspired outpost, with aesthetic heritage vibes. While the original Principle cafés are more casual, serving up hearty brunches, the new Reserve edition is more upscale and elevated.

The space boasts vintage elements: from the gated entrance, dark wood furniture, warm lighting and wainscoting on the walls. The café has an indoor dining area, as well as alfresco seating too. There’s even a self-serve pastry and dessert table where you get to pick and choose the bakes that you want; kind of like the cafés in Korea.

Aside from bakes, Principle Reserve serves up Western-style brunch and mains like signature pastas, sourdough pizzas, risotto, all-day brunches, specialty drinks and more. Some highlights from the menu include Braised NZ Lamb Shank (RM 86.90), Smokey Beef Brisket Pasta (RM 36.90), Tiger Prawn & Mussels Pasta (RM 42.90), Truffle Mushroom Risotto (RM 39.90), Gochujang Pizza (RM 45.90) and more.
