Singapore’s First Free Flow Saké Brunch @ TANOKE

Celebrating the bond between people, food, and drink, TANOKE, a portmanteau of Taberu – to Eat, Nomu – to Drink, and Sake, was officially launched on 2nd February 2021. Through combining modern Japanese gastronomic delicacies made in the culinary traditions of the Edo period and premium artisanal saké in a contemporary setting, TANOKE aims to bring joy and harmony to people through their interactions with food and saké.

Located on the second floor of 7 Purvis Street, TANOKE’s comfortable and intimate space is the choice location to enjoy premium artisanal saké paired with the culinary elegance of the Shichirin Binchotan grill. Complete with lush green interiors, and an expert team of experienced specialists, saké sommeliers, and bartenders who work to meticulously curate an unique harmony of flavours, TANOKE’s cuisine is dictated by Chef Rio’s vision of working with the traditional Shichirin Binchotan grill and the best quality ingredients to innovate modern Japanese dishes that reflect their natural flavours and textures.

Priding themselves in successfully harnessing the Binchotan’s ability to retain natural flavours on the best quality meat and seafood, TANOKE invites all guests to indulge in the restaurant’s signature A5 Tochigi Wagyu Ribeye, the Koji-aged Coastal Lamb Rack and Giant Tiger Prawns, alongside its other modern takes such as the Foie Gras Teriyaki and Aburi Kani Miso Senbei or wonderful traditional favourites like the Otoro Aburi handroll and Sansho Pepper Tori Karaage with the best company and over a lovely saké.

For that extra something special on Sundays, TANOKE has created Singapore’s first free flow Saké Brunch – an unlimited flow of Sparkling Saké, outstanding Junmai Ginjo and beer to go along with Pancakes and Karaage or the Foie Gras and Onsen Benedict. The Sunday brunch is available from 11:30am to 3pm.

Complete with a selection of over 40 premium artisanal sakés and seasonal specials, categorized by regions and from the very best boutique breweries the area has to offer, TANOKE aims to bring one on an experiential journey across Japan to taste each region’s natural terroir in an Ochoko.

To showcase Japanese nihonshu and ingredients, TANOKE has also created a special cocktail selection, which include in-house creations such as the Nimechi’s Pond and Yoi Sakusha experiment with saké for an interplay of flavour complexity and intensity, giving dimensionality to a centuries-old alcohol.

As TANOKE’s philosophy is the ‘harmonious pairing of food and drinks’; the restaurant’s dedicated Happy Hour period invites guests to order a variety of cocktails and saké directly from the Sommelier! Available on weekdays from 5-7pm, these beverages will come complete with a TANOKE Wagyu Slider and snack.
